Sen. Lesser lays out economic roadmap for Western Mass. at Estate Planning Council of Hampden County's fall luncheon
SPRINGFIELD — Senator Eric P. Lesser addressed members of the Estate Planning Council of Hampden County at their fall luncheon Tuesday, laying out a roadmap of economic and legislative initiatives that would further connect Western Mass. to Boston.
"The Greater Springfield economy is growing and creating new jobs, but we have much more work to do in order to catch up with the Boston area and to ensure all our families have access to good jobs and good opportunities." Sen. Lesser told nearly 50 members of the council in the Naismith Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame. “Closing the waitlist at our vocational schools, taking better advantage of emerging trends like remote working, and building a Western Mass life sciences research cluster are just some ways we can make investments that pay dividends many times over. Of course, we also must continue progress on rail service to Boston, an essential element to growing our economy and creating tens of thousands of new jobs."
